Our tastings are designed to introduce members to a wider world of whisky — from classic Scotch regions and respected distilleries to rare bottlings, independent releases, cask-strength whiskies, and interesting spirits from around the world. Rather than purchasing an entire bottle simply to find out whether you enjoy it, membership lets you taste, compare, and discover alongside other members.
Whisky can seem complicated. It does not have to be. OSWS is built around education, curiosity, and conversation. Members learn about distilleries, regions, casks, production methods, history, tasting techniques, and the stories behind the whisky — without needing to become an expert before joining.

Whisky has always been a social drink. OSWS provides a welcoming place to meet people who enjoy whisky, Scottish culture, travel, food, music, history, and good conversation. You do not need to know anyone before attending. One of the purposes of the Society is to create another table around which people can gather.
OSWS works with local businesses and whisky-related organizations that support the Society and its members. As our network grows, members may receive access to special offers, discounts, events, and other benefits from participating OSWS affiliates.
